The woman of folly is boisterous, She is naive and knows nothing. (Proverbs 9:13)
The woman of folly is boisterous, She is naive and knows nothing. She sits at the doorway of her house, On a seat by the high places of the city, Calling to those who pass by, Who are making their paths straight: “Whoever is naive, let him turn in here,” And to him who lacks understanding she says, “Stolen water is sweet; And bread eaten in secret is pleasant.” But he does not know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of Sheol. (Proverbs 9:13-18)
Across the room from Wisdom is the woman Folly. She is loud, she creates a commotion to distract those who would listen to her from the truth. She is simple minded yet seductive; her promises are not only deceitful, they are deadly.
Without wisdom, without understanding we can be easy prey. The enemy is strong but praise God, we have this assurance: “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”. (1 John 4:4).
