These verses remind me of my childhood bedtime prayer!

“Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray thee Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray thee Lord my soul to take”.

Lord, that is still my prayer.

Because of Your love and Your sacrifice, I can pray it with confidence. I can close my eyes at night knowing that, should I not open my eyes in the morning, my soul will rest with You for all eternity.

There is no fear for those whose trust is in You. We are sheltered in Your arms, sustained by Your love. What can man do to us?

Thank You Lord that I can lay down and sleep in perfect peace.
