The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)
I hope the “Songs in the Morning” devotions have been as much of a blessing to you as they have to me. While it’s been a joy for me to share my morning thoughts with you these past few months, I thought it might be time for something new.
Do you feel, as I do, that the world is getting crazier by the day? Honestly, it sometimes seems as if common sense, common courtesy, and common decency have all but vanished. There is plenty of advice out there about how to cope but there is only one sure way I have found that we can “keep our head when all about us are losing theirs”; that way is to immerse ourselves in the sure foundation of God’s word.
So, What’s New?
Starting Monday we will begin a weekly Bible study “Wisdom” from the book of Proverbs.
Full disclosure: If you have been following me for a while this will be a rerun for you, so for you, I guess its not really “new” but more of a refresher course. (I originally posted the study here in 2020).
What to Expect
A new lesson will be posted on Monday mornings. Each lesson will consist of an exposition of one or more verses, a few questions for you to consider, and a reading assignment for the next week’s lesson.
Yes, I know you’re busy. What with school being back in session and the holidays quickly approaching, on top of our already hectic lives, you have little space for anything else. I get it, that’s why I have kept the lessons short in content yet deep in context.
I hope you will stop by Monday and check it out. Who knows, you may find a bit of common sense wisdom you thought was forever lost.
P.S. Please have an enjoyable and safe holiday weekend. See you Monday.
