(A psalm by David.) You, LORD, are my shepherd. I will never be in need. (Psalms 23:1 CEV)
Sometimes less is more, that’s the case for this week’s post. In the familiar six verses of the Twenty-Third Psalms, David left us with a legacy of promise upon promise, hope upon hope. I invite you to meditate with me on David’s beautiful offering of praise:
YOU are my Provision
You, LORD, are my shepherd. I will never be in need.
for my physical needs,
You let me rest in fields of green grass. You lead me to streams of peaceful water,
my emotional needs,
and you refresh my life. You are true to your name,
and my spiritual needs.
and you lead me along the right paths.
YOU calm my fears
I may walk through valleys as dark as death, but I won’t be afraid. You are with me, and your shepherd’s rod makes me feel safe.
and justify my cause.
You treat me to a feast, while my enemies watch.
YOU give without measure
You honor me as your guest, and you fill my cup until it overflows.
grace for the moment,
Your kindness and love will always be with me
hope for the day,
each day of my life,
and assurance for eternity.
and I will live forever in your house, LORD.
