Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)
“If things are tough, remember that every flower had to go through a whole lot of dirt to get there. So do not grieve about a bitter experience. The present is slipping by while you are regretting the past and worrying about the future. Regret will not prevent tomorrow’s sorrows; it will only rob today of its strength.”
Barbara Johnson
One of my favorite women authors is Barbara Johnson. She was a woman with an amazing testimony of trials. She strived to not just endure her trials but to find joy in spite of her trials and, through her writings, to help others do the same. As a matter of fact, she was an inspiration for my own book “Choose Joy”. If you’re not familiar with Barbara’s story, I encourage you read it; I promise you will be encouraged by it.
This month I am pleased to bring you a series of quotes from this woman of faith and courage.
